Investigation
The Investigation stage considered how commencing first year students and their teachers use technology-based tools in their everyday lives and to support student learning. The investigation focused on traditional technologies and emerging technologies, particularly in the areas of online publishing, communication and file sharing. The Investigation stage was undertaken across three partner universities between August 2006 and September 2007. Quantitative and qualitative data was collected from students and staff between September and November 2006 and was analysed.
We have collected over 2500 responses from students via questionnaire and conducted 27 focus groups and interviews with students and staff (46 first-year students, 31 teaching and support staff).
